9 lives to Die

My Review: This book takes place around Christmastime and I have to admit while reading it that I wished that I was getting ready for Christmas. I normally hate winter time but the weeks leading up to Christmas is one of my favorites out of the whole year.

I was glad to see that the cats were still featured  in the book. In the last book that I read I feel in love with the cats and was afraid it may have been a one book thing but it wasn’t. They were as cute as ever in this book. I have to admit that I am impressed with how Rita Mae Brown pulls off the animals talking  in the books. She makes it sound like the animals are talking but all the human hears is animal sounds and the animals play along with it. It sounds a lot better in the book than my measly explanation allows so I would suggest you read it. I have to admit the pets make the book worthwhile. If it wasn’t for them I am not sure if I would like the book as much as I did. The pets in the book are much smarter than their human counterparts and twice as funny also. Some times I would get bored reading something then one of the animals would start talking and save the book. I want to go back and read the other books just for the pets alone.

Like the previous book this is a light fun read. We see how the characters go about their lives with fundraisers, working on farms and the like.
