Josie Schuller is a picture-perfect homemaker, wife, and mother--but she's also a ruthless, efficient killer! She's balanced cheerful domestic bliss with coldly performed assassinations, but when Josie finds herself in the crosshairs, her American Dream life is in danger! A brand-new original black comedy series that combines the wholesome imagery of early 1960s domestic bliss with a tightening web of murder, paranoia, and cold-blooded survival. "LADY KILLER is just as much splash-page gore as it is a biting commentary on American society, creating a well-balanced work for both fans of horror and of smart political thrillers." -fangoria.com
I am becoming a comic freak. Seriously. I find sooo many that I love. Like this one. At first, I was all like I sm not sure, but I heard other bloggers raving about it, so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did.
I loved the artwork. It was fabulous. I loved seeing all the 1950’s references and how it showcased the stereotypical 1950’s, housewife. What makes this comic brilliant is the way they the housewife moonlights as an assassin.
I loved how even when killing people in cold blood she seemed always to look near perfect. I know that is really vain of me and promotes stereotypes of women but I just loved the one scene where she was wearing sky-high heels and a cat costume, and she killed this dude with her BARE HANDS and she was standing looking all powerful and OMG he just gave off such a powerful message on that one page. Like, don’t fuck with women because you don’t know who she is.View Spoiler »There was one scene that may be upsetting to some (a lot) of people. She was contracted to kill a child, but she didn’t go through with it. I am not sure what the scene is supposed to stand for, but it was shocking. I mean I like to think of myself as tough as nails but when I read that I was all like holy shit! And it even disturbed me a little. Which in a way was good because like I said I am basically a heartless bitch who has no feelings, so anything that can evoke such a strong emotion in me is a damn good book in my opinion. « Hide Spoiler
The one thing I was like ugh it ended on a cliffhanger! I went to the library and I wanted to request volume 2, but there is no volume 2 OMG HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT? I Guess I COULD put it on my pull list at the comic shop. So I did. I think I am paying comic shop dude’s mortgage every month, but there are just some comics I gotta have every Wednesday when my comic book shop releases issues. I CANT WAIT
