Off The Blog

Remember I talked before about my knees hurting and thinking it was just runners knee?? Well, I finally broke down and went to the DR only to find out it was Arteritis. I was REALLY upset when the  Dr told me this. I was even more shocked when the asked if I would like a wheelchair to use. I was like Fuck You I am only 38. And  I hobbled out of the Dr office. Not quite the dramatic exist I was hoping for but ok. I went for my first physical therapy session last Wednesday. Where I got a bit of good news. It is arteritis, BUT it is the kind that is caused by inflammation in my case the ness, and once the inflammation goes away, my knees will be pain-free. So I am not coming down with a third handicap just yet. I told some people that lived in my building, and they asked if I had tried the Keto Diet. I haven’t and this person informed me that would take all the inflammation out of me, and I will feel amazing. I google it, and I am gonna give it a try. It is Paleo on steroids. I already eat paleo-ish, so I am hoping the transition to a Keto Diet won’t be TOOO painful. If it helps my knees i am will to try it.

Bookish News

I have started accepting ARC again but now I am accepting audio ARC or whatever you call an audiobook for review.  My first was Crave Me, and it was soooo good. I will have a review up soon. I learned that if I am going to listen to two audiobooks at the same time, then they cant both in the same genre. I was listening to Nethendral Seeks Human, and then I got the ARC of Crave Me, and I promised to had it review in two weeks at most, so I started lining the Crave Me, and as they are both Contemporary romance there were more than a few times I got the plots mixed up and add that I am loving BOTH we’ll…For example, I can handle a Non-fiction and a romance or even if one romance story has zombies and the other is a contemporary but TWO contemporaries? Not so much.
I also have a feeling that I will be getting a LOT of audiobook time in the next few months. I have to have physical therapy three times a week. It is a 45 min ride to the hospital. They wrap my knees in a fancy ass ice compress for an hour then I do some light exercises. Then a 45 min ride back home. That is almost 5 hours of audiobook time right there. Lucky I have a subscription to Audible Romance package AND Scribd, so I have plenty of books to listen to. I just hope my knees get better soon. I really really really miss my BBG workouts.

  2. If you haven’t spent much time with audiobooks, you may learn to love it. I do. It helps me feel like I am not missing out while I am driving or doing chores and stuff. Good luck with the diet. My daughter has PT tomorrow. We’ve gone gluten free and she is working on her own inflammation issues. Anne – Books of My Heart
