The Librarian

the libabraian

When I first heard about this book, I saw that it was an erotic novel about a quite shy librarian and a  outgoing sort famous photographer I was like sign me up! I thought it sounded promising.

This is an erotic book so there are some BDSM involved. However it is not the heavy kind so people just starting to read this kind of novel will not be put off by it.

While the plot is not very original I still loved it. Maybe it because I want to be a librarian so I drink anything having to do with the profession up.

The romance was not the insta romance that I hate. There was a steady build up. The main woman character was so naïve that at times I wanted to smack her. I get that some people are like that but seriously by the time you reach a certain age you should know more about sex and relationships than she did. The male main character was a domineering type. I thought it was kind of funny how he introduced a a 25 year old virgin to the world of BDSM. At first I was my feeling was that he was using her to his own sexual advantage and in the beginning he was. Then we see some character growth on both parts and they realize they are really in love with each other. The tension that builds up to this climax is very authentic. We see them trying to navigate a purely sexual relationship to one of mutual love and respect.

I would recommend this book to the 50 Shades of Grey crowd. For people who read hardcore erotic novels there is not much to keep their attention. However if you read 50 Shades of Grey and enjoyed it then this book is for you.

I received a copy from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
