The Secret Adversary

the secret adverseryThis is the first book in Tommy and Tuppance series by Agatha Christie. Tommy and Tuppance run into each other after World War Two and after talking they realize they are both dirt poor so they hatch a plan to become adventures to make money. After Placing an ad in the paper someone contacts them to find a missing girl who is supposed to have very important government papers. They don’t realize the trouble they have gotten themselves into before it is too late.

As the duo go around trying to find the girl they are met with double agents and spies and other types of shifty characters.

This is a book with a fast moving plot. We don’t really get Tommy and Tuppence backstory rather we get their adventures trying to locate the girl. There were twist and turns and every page kept me guessing as to what would come next. As soon as I thought that I had it figured out, there would be another twist that would throw me off.

This is one of those few books that kept me glued to my seat. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.

Even though the characters were one dimensional the plot was such that I really did not mind. I look forward to reading more of their adventures.
