I Finally got to get out of my house last week!! Granted, it was to the audiologist to get my CI  implants remapped, but still, I will take whatever I can get. I am immunosuppressed, so I can’t just say fuck it and go out. I needed to get my implants remapped badly as I couldn’t hear worth crap on the old settings.  The mask presented some challenges. One being I felt like I was suffocating and two, as my implants were not picking up, sounds very well as before I  HAD been relying on lipreading, but it is impossible when you can’t see a person’s lips and face. Please do NOT get me started on those transparent masks. To lipread well, you have to see the whole face, not just some pair of lips moving. So yeah…being Deaf in this pandemic is very challenging. Once my implants were upgraded, I could hear well again the masks didn’t bother me as much. I was kinda afraid they wouldn’t let me in as this is only my second summer living here in the south a dn, not in Cleveland where it is winter eight months of the year and no pollen. Here In Kentucky, it seems that there is a blanket of pollen every damn where and my miserable allergies are acting up, and I do get go into coughing spells which I am told will go away once I have “acclimated” to southern weather. I am making my friends’ lots of dollars by using Young Living R.C essential oil. It does help without giving you the rebound stuffy nose that other sprays do.

I am currently living in South East Ky, and the internet is shitty here. I have tried to FaceTime many times with friends, and the screen would just keep freezing up. Then a friend came across this app, and while it is not the same as FaceTime, it does its job well.

 

 

 

What Made Me Happy Last Week

 

  • Getting my cholera ear implants remapped
  • I can do a jump squat with the Tone it Up app. It has been sooo long since I have been able to do ANY kind of Jumps.
  • Realizing how much I am progressing in my health goals
