What I read last week

It has been a long ass time since I posted a blog post.  I am not sure what happened to my brain. Or well yeah, I do. Being stuck at home took a toll on me and my creativity. I usually like to go places such as the library, and every time I go, and I feel like I am at peace. You know how some people talk about how good they feel after church..well, that is me but at a library. And to make matters worse, the whole inter loan service was shut down and my home library is in one of the poorest places in the whole of USA. Central Applechis is not known for having the funds to really purchase books and such. The library is funded by property taxes think, and around 85 percent of the people here don’t even PAY taxes, and you can guess the lack of choices that the Library has in the actual book in the stacks. That did not really bother me because I always used the ILL system, and I 99 percent get what I want. But that was not the case this past year. Thank the Lord for Scribd and Amazon on my kindle.  Then again, not a lot of people around here have that choice. I honestly never realized how much being IN a library soothes my soul, and as the months went by, and my creativity started to go downhill; also, I couldn’t think of a single thing to post. It wasn’t till I looked at what all I read last week that started the mojo of reading, and now I feel as good about blogging before the Pandemic.

Wintering-
it is an interesting Concept. I never thought of winter to heal as I was until 2 years a ho is when I finally got through a winter without any hibernations.
Soul full of coal dust
I was born and raised in Coal Country, and even I had no idea that the coal baron was THAT bad. While I was reading it, I would think this is the straw that broke the camel’s back, but then it got worse and worse until a coal mine blew up. Yes, there were STILL coal miners inside. tHE STORY THAT came with it is not easy reading, but I feel it is an important one.
How to defeat a Demon King in Ten Easy steps
was my audiobook. Of the week… I left my implants off my head for two weeks, and I almost had a heart attack, thinking I have lost all my “hearing,” but nope. came back in a few days
Thank Like a Monk-
I have really been into mediation and all the new-age spirituality stuff. This book was right up my alley. I learned soooo much!!

Reviews for all are coming!

  • The Southern Book Cubs Guide to Slaying Vampires.
  • Piranesi
  • Bad Muslim Discount
  • A Swim in a Pond in the Rain
THE SAD PART ABOUT THIS LIST THAT I WANNA READ IS THAT my library holds came in, but I have to comply forgotten why I put any of these on hold. Well, we shall see if any of them is as good as the reviews say.

  1. Added the coal dust book to my TBR. So does your library at least have ebooks you can borrow? People here in Arkansas don’t pay property tax either. Every year in October or whenever the cutoff is, they post pages and pages and pages of delinquent names and addresses in the local paper.

    1. The ebook is statewide.. One place for every library. Problem is that makes wait times super long. They do not publish names in the local paper though.. I cant belive some libraries do that!
