Hi everyone!
What a week it has been. I have been busy working on my ghostwriting project. I am down to the wire on a deadline, so not much reading happened last week. I have been spending hours and hours hunched over my computer typing. Luckily for me, these pills help keep my brain awake and working so that I do not revert to Appalachian English as I typically do when faced with this level of exhaustion. But I am not complaining as it feels sooooo good to be doing what I love.

I saw more than a few bloggers that I admire make a Patron thingie. I also saw some bloggers use some other services, but I am most familiar with Patron because a have a couple of friends using it. Also, I can make stuff on the page, and it will be like an all exclusive thingie. So far I only have if you donate 5 dollars and up monthly I will give you three book recommendations. You will fill out a google form, and I will take your answers and give you some recommendations! I have been practicing my recording skills with friends, and I feel confident that I am ready to tackle it with strangers. If you want to sign up just go here. Or click the button below!

I did not make it to the library last week because it snowed and they laid off all the road cleaning people cause without the coal mines every one is supposedly broke, and no one is paying taxes so.yeah. Things are not well in Central Appalachia. There was like 2 feet of snow covering the mountain where my parent’s house is and I been all cooped up like that dude in The Shining Movie. I haven’t reached That level of insanity..yet… but I am getting there. I am hoping it at least melts enough so that I can convince my mom to drive me to the library. I need to get out of this house.

Speaking of the library and books I ordered a book that my online MasterMind is reading Entrepreneurial You through ILL, but no one wanted to loan theirs out 🙁 the librarian at my library was nice though and ordered the book for their collection, and she said it should be here on Wednesday. Heres is to hope. Meanwhile, I found the audiobook on Scribd and have been listening to it. It has given me a few ideas about really monetizing this blog. I have to think through some stuff first though.

I made a new ebook on books that will change your life. These books really made a huge impact on me, and these are all books that I have recommended to friends and they have told me that the books have made a huge impact on them. This is the nonficticion version. I will do a fiction version soon.

I have decided to partake in 4 reading challenges this year. The AudioBook challenge, Read Harder Challenge, Modern Mrs. Darcy Challenge, and the PopSugar Challenge. I am using this spreadsheet by GirlXoxo to keep track of the challenges, and I am going to get this reading tracker by Sarahs Bookshelves when I get paid.

That is all from me this week. I hope you have a good week of reading this week!

  1. Patron thingie sounds interesting. Though not sure how it would work with book blogs when you sort of have so many people doing it for free 🙂

Moreover, WordPress offers you a ton of free themes…and if you do want your own domain, I believe it’s 25$/ year. Not too expensive to do something you love and to get books and passes to book events for free.

Thank you for your feedback! I am aware of all of that. There has been talk of book bloggers monetizing their blogs much like fashion blogs do. I am a member of a mastermind and they had some suggestions on how to do that and this was one of them. Moreover some book blogs such as Smart Bitches Trashy Books DO have patrons set up and it is successful. If mine is then I plan to have members only content so that people will get their moneys worth. I know there are many book blogs and blogs in gentral where you can get info for free but is a person wants to experiment with monetization then why not let them?

  2. I’m attempting The Modern Mrs. Darcy challenge this year too. I’m hoping to actually remember I’m doing it for longer than 3 months because that’s how long I made it last year! Our roads have been terrible here though mostly because it doesn’t happen enough to justify having people to deal with it! I can imagine it would be frustrating if it was a regular thing. Have a great week!
