Book Review: 23 Minutes in Hell

My Review: At first when I heard what this book was about I was skeptical. I had heard about people going to heaven then coming back and I had my doubts about them also. I mean what would God send someone to hell just to “warn” them or us? Isnt that kind of..well. MEAN? Anyway with some trepidation I picked up this book and was  whisked away into the realms of hell.

No really.. the book opens up that way. The author Bill Weise in a few pages backs up and offers some explanation then goes on to explain his 23 minutes in hell. And what a vivid explanation it was. I am not sure if he is just a skilled writer or had a skilled editor or what but the writing was good. it was so good I found myself distancing myself from my usual cold and harsh analysis and falling into what he was saying. I could actually picture myself in hell with him. IN his writing he invokes all of the 5 senses.

Wiese also bases his observation on scripture and he gives us evidence in the book on what scripture he uses. I am not a trained theologian or anything so I am sure someone somewhere can prove him wrong or something but I found it to be really credible and I hope I am not showing my ignorance about this.

Even if you don’t believe in the after life The story alone is worth reading. I do belive and I thought it was a great story about the realities of a very real place that lost souls would go too. I highly recommend this book.
