The Primal Blueprint

My Review: As I have stated earlier on this blog I have gotten into the whole Paleo Lifestyle. This is slightly different as it encompasses the whole life and dosen’t just focus on food. He has “laws” that one follows for a healthy happy life. They include do stuff to simulate your brain. Have fun etc.

I had been focusing on the diet part of getting healthy but Sission has a very good point that if you live a long life but are miserable then whats the point? So after reading this book I started thinking how I could make my life worthwhile. I wish he included advice for introverts as everyone in the book seemed to be outgoing and carefree. I have a select group of friends that I love and trust but I at heart I am terrified of new people. I don’t often show it. I WISH I could be outgoing and carefree but I only get that way when I get drunk or am on illegal substances but whatever.

Anyway, Primal Blueprint is slightly different from Paleo as it allows dairy and some other stuff that paleo doesn’t. I have tried to add back dairy but aside from Kerry Gold butter if I eat it the I look like I never escaped my teenage years with the way I break out so that is out for me.

Aside from the fact that I am a semi hermit I gleaned some useful stuff from this book. Like I said it is not only about the diet but rather a whole lifestyle. I will adapt some of his suggestions.

  1. I am reading Mark’s book right now.. I can say that one of the downsides of getting into the Paleo world for me has been the sheer volume of information.. When it all gets overwhelming I cruise over to Mark’s Daily Apple and let him talk me off the ledge. One of the best gifts he has given me is his ability to keep it sensible and real. I recommend this book to my friends who come to me wanting to do what I did. Because his approach isn’t overwhelming.

When I saw this, I scrolled down to see if you read It Starts with Food — and there it was! My sister-in-law swears by that book. I was able to get the results I wanted without going paleo or vegan (but I looked into both, just in case!).

You are lucky! I have tried other diets but I have bipolar and Adhd and anixety disorder. I have found that a paleo diet workers wonders for all of these. I wish that a less strict diet had helped but oh well.
